If it is so easy everyone would be doing it, so be cautious. Check out any of them by putting their name in your browser followed by the word scam and see what you can find out about what others have said.
So often you can tell these local fly-by-nighters are phony when the office they meet you at initially is in an office building with no signage or none at the office door, and that should tell you that they are not taking any permanent residence there, or that they are so new that you better be wary.
Internet “businesses” are just as shakey, because anyone anywhere with a computer and a connection can call themselves a company.
Legitimate businesses are built over time with credibility and some satisfied customers, and it is difficult to start a company from scratch.
You need a super niche to become a successful small business, and some luck. Lots of preparation goes into a good business.
Think of it this way, would you rather trust a surgeon with less or more of anything? http://www.jhowardco.com

Internet marketing is really like working the same like real marketing. But there are so many advantages. Especially for the pay and family time. There are so many internet marketing individuals I know and they really got there hands in something good. There are a lot of opportunities for internet marketing, but try to research to have more ideas.

A way out of this economic crisis. Internet marketing is huge. You just have to find your niche and concentrate on that and hire other people to do the rest. Don’t be a jack of all trades.
If you are good at writing, become a content producer.
If you are good at web design, go into graphic design.
If you are good at writing sales copies, then do it.
If you are not good at anything, then start learning.

I’ll answer your question in this manner:
“I keep receiving emails about starting up an online business. Can somebody give me the real low down on this?”
This e-mails you’re receiving is called ‘direct mail’ and usually they are sent by business owners or affiliate who are looking to sign you up as partners or just want to sell something.
This is a type of internet marketing; using e-mails, and internet marketing or better known as IM, is a part of Internet business.
“Is it as easy as it seems?”
It seems easy but in reality it’s getting tougher. Take your e-mailer for instance; did you open his/her e mail and take action?
Taking action is called ‘conversion’ in IM and signing you up is ‘building list’. Both are not easy. They could be mistakenly taken as spammers and get banned forever.
“How much money do you need to start it up?”
You can start for free. I used to get into the thinking that building a business on the internet take money etc. but now I’ve found out that you can start with free tools and method and still make good money compared to the paid solution.
But of course, there will come a time when paid solutions made more sense. But you can start for free. Seriously.

Internet marketing is doing commerce through the Internet. You can start by promoting other people’s products or services as an affiliate marketer. I suggest you start free if you can write simple articles. It takes time to make money online but, if you must learn, better learn for free. Don’t rush. There are too many scams and dead-end programs.

Don’t do it. Any of them. They’re almost ALWAYS a scam or a pyramid company. Alls they really are doing is phishing for your information (bank account numbers, SS, DOB, etc.) It’s not worth it to try and figure it out. Rule of thumb, if it sounds too good to be true, it is.
